In tonight's special news, Justin Timberlake is slated to perform at tonight's award show, and rumors are that he will be reuniting onstage with his former boy band group NSync.
Former NSync member Joey Fatone's father has seemingly confirmed that the reunion will definitely be taking place, saying that his son, Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, JC Chasez and Chris Kirkpatrick are set to reunite for the show. Joseph Fatone Sr told RadarOnline: 'They're doing a performance. I think it's exciting. I couldn't even say why he's doing it though. Why, at this point in his life. Now he's his own man. But it's more to the fact that MTV has made them all somewhat of stars, and also made Justin a star.'
Timberlake will be presented with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award. Past recipients of the award include Michael Jackson himself, Madonna, R.E.M., and the Beastie Boys.
Katy Perry, who has not performed at the MTV VMA's since 2009, will also perform at the award show with her first single 'Roar' from her upcoming album 'Prism', which will be released Oct. 22.

Robin Thicke will also perform his single 'Blurred Lines,' which has topped Billboard charts across the world.

Bruno Mars is also slated to take the stage with a new single from his album, Unorthodox Jukebox. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis will also sing 'Same Love.'

2012 Full Movie
The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards were handed out last night in L.A. It's an awards show honoring music videos, which haven't been aired on MTV in years.
Whatever, right? Without the VMAs, stars wouldn't have an excuse to wear crazy $h!t and make ridiculous speeches as they accept totally arbitrary honors.
We kid. Mostly. Whatever you think of the show, it marks what has often been the year's craziest night in music, and this year, it moved in a new direction.
ONE Direction.
It was a virtual British invasion at Staples Center as the hunky UK boy band teens took home three awards Thursday night and barged in on Rihanna's party.
Rih kicked off things with a performance to open the show, then ended it by taking the TOP honor, video of the year for her steamy hit 'We Found Love.'
But it was One Direction which provided the most screamed-over performance, then won best pop video, best new artist and most share-worthy video.
Chris Brown pulled off something of an upset in the best male video category. Rihanna's former boyfriend won for his self-directed 'Turn Up The Music.'
Drake won best hip-hop video for 'HYFR,' which featured Lil Wayne. Nicki Minaj, dressed in a skintight full-body outfit, won best female video for 'Starships.'
